Cut Up

A text or several texts are cut into pieces (traditionally using scissors and paper), words or phrases, and pasted together again randomly. Credited as a Dada invention it was also famously used by William Burroughs and David Bowie.

Obscurity providing the effect of profundity, it is easy to read meaning into lines like: vivacious feet paralysed tommorrow, ripening blindness, to give bleedingly, hiding awake, night exhausts, eavesdroppers scorn thee, poison sleeps, indifferent at the close sound of murder, me - energy ordered, I lap at realities' tongues, hobby of hate wakes feet, continuing clear wise and ponderous, thumping deaf and idealistic, vivants, Britney Batman blitzes broadband police.
